LAKE TO LAKE TRAIL

Take a walk or bike ride along the newly built Lake2Lake trail. Start at the Department of Conservation headquarters and make your way through the bird park and out towards the control gates at the entrance to the Kepler walking track. From there it’s possible to cycle or hike down the Waiau river, absorbing the bird song and appreciating glimpses of the river and ever-changing scenery along the way. Mountain bikes are available at the lodge on request; alternatively, there are a number of places to hire both mountain bikes and e-bikes in town.
